SOS conducts a range of talks and workshops on suicide prevention, intervention and postvention to equip the participants with knowledge and skills that can be applied in their respective areas of work and personal lives.

 

Training For Professionals

  • Suicide Intervention Skills Workshop (SISW)*

    Suitable for counsellors, social workers, psychologists and other professionals working with clients at risk of suicide.

  • Suicide Postvention Skills Workshop (SPSW)*

    Suitable for counsellors, social workers, psychologists and other professionals who counsel and provide emotional support to people affected by a suicide death.

These workshops are accepted by the Singapore Association for Social Workers (SASW) and Singapore Association for Counsellors (SAC) for the renewal of accreditation and membership status respectively at 1 CPE credit per hour.

In this school edition, SOS is reaching out to students, teachers and school counsellors through a special series of talks and trainings, designed to raise awareness about the importance of emotional wellbeing, as well as impart the necessary knowledge and skills to attend and provide support during difficult times.

 

 

 

Awareness Talks and Training for the community

  • Suicide Awareness Talk (SAT)

A 1-1.5hr information & awareness session that aims to raise participants' awareness about suicide, and the warning signs to look out for. 

  • 需要帮助?怎么办?(Need Help? How?) 

A customised talk for elderly in Mandarin to inform them of the different avenues they can seek help, especially those in their own neighbourhood. It also provides information on how to look out for, and support, one another.
